OUR STORY

 

We are located in Albuquerque, New Mexico home of the best green chile you will ever find. We are a local family owned business just trying to better the world with our delicious popcorn, made with simple ingredients you can find in your own cupboard!

 

Originally, we had a craving for green chile popcorn and the popcorn we had found wasn’t “all that great” so we decided to make our own. Thus The Cornivore was born!

 

We took what we concocted to a party and it was a HIT! Everyone started giving us flavor suggestions, and we’ve been adding to our unique flavor list since.

My wife Bernadette and I have been married for 18 years and we have 4 kids. In 2009, right in the middle of the worst recession in US history, Bernadette had a stroke that left her unable to work. It also left her body rejecting most of the artificial flavors in the food we ate. One of those flavors was corn syrup. We had to create custom recipes that would eliminate the stuff she couldn't eat which made our popcorn really stand out among the rest of the competition.

We started The Cornivore to get back on our feet after our bad beat in real estate during the recession.

We built this business with no money and no credit by popping popcorn and selling it person to person. We want to be an inspiration for the NM community by creating something from nothing for our family.
